5 of my favourite makeup products.

Concealor - YSL Touche Clat
This is perfect for hiding the dark circles under my eyes and slim enough to bring in your handbag for touch-up's on a night out with bringing the whole makeup bag. Average pricing ranges from £18.00-£28.00 depending where you buy the product.

Eyeliner - Prestige Kohl/Liquid Eyeliner
These eyeliners are one of the best that I've tried, they stay on all day. Another plus is that they are not expensive, which is handy being a student!! Average price is around £2.49/£2.99

Eyeshadow - Urban Decay Eyeshadow
This is my favourite eyeshadow palette for all occasions - Daytime Casual or Night time Glamour.
The 1st I ever tried this brand was when I received it for a christmas present about 5/6 years ago and have been using it faithfully ever since and I still have this exact palette to this day! Average pricing for this is £25.00

Mascara - Max Factor Masterpiece.
I really like the iFX brush used with this mascara, it's good to get to the small lashes right at the inner corner of your eyes. Not only is it a really good mascara from a "Big" brand it's also very reasonably priced - £8.99

Lip Gloss - Sally Henson Lip Inflation
I like how this tingly lip gloss gives you a fuller look. I have have tried various lip glosses for this effect but this seems to be the best one so far. Average price for this is between £4.00-£6.15.

History Of Make-up

The first evidence of make up being used is in ancient egypt in the year 4000 BC. Egyptians created  products by using dangerous materials mercury and white lead.
They also used khol which was used to outline the eyes, it is made of lead, copper, soot, burned almonds and some other ingredients.
They believed that eye make up would ward off evil spirits and improve the sight.
In Japan, Geisha's used lipstick made of crushed safflower petals to paint eyebrows and edges of eyes as well as lips.
Sticks of bintsuke was - a softer version of sumo wrestlers hair wax - was used as a make up base.

Fantasy Movie Makeup

To recreate the look of Two Face I would use prosthetics before applying the make up and latex. I picked this fantasy movie look because it partially ties in with what we have been learning about burns in our Special Effects class.

To recreate the look of Keither Sutherland's vampire character "David" in The Lost Boys would be to use a foundation a couple of shades lighter than the normal skin tone and use white Cosmetic Powder to set the makeup and to give you a pale and vampiric look. I would apply Dermawax below and above the eye area to disfigure and show the transformation. I would then apply green or gray greasepaints to the undereye to give a corpse look and to the cheekbones to make them look a bit gaunt. The most important items now would be the vampire fangs and white/red contacts to complete the look.

Style icons of mine...!

Kate Moss is one of the most famous Supermodel's of all time, her Smokey eye look has ben replicated by myself as well as many others..! In 2005 she began working for Rimmel and recently has brought out her own lipstick range with them. she has also fronted Dior Addict Be Iconic campaign.

Dita Von Teese is most famous for her Burlesque shows and being married/divorsed  to Marilyn Manson. I love her 1940's style which was inspired by her fascination Bette Garble and 1930 -40's musicals and films. She is a spokesmodel with MAC Cosmetics.

Lady GaGa shot to fame with her debut album The Fame and has become well known for her eccentric outfits and make-up as well as her catchy pop music....!  She was inspired by David Bowie and Madonna which shows in her music and experimental look. She collaborated with Cyndi Lauper and joined forces with MAC Cosmetics to launch a line of lipsticks, titled Viva Glam Gaga and Viva Glam Cyndi.
